Colp Arabian Stud specialise in 100% pure Crabbet Arabian horses within a very rare group of Blunt/Skowronek & Blunt/Doyle bloodlines in the UK.
Binley Golden Flame
Grecian Idyll x Silvern Pearl
SCID & LFS CLEAR
I "booked my order" for a chestnut colt foal with 4 white socks out of a particular breeding, the mare Silvern Pearl bred by Rosemary Archer at Worth Stud and the stallion Grecian Idyll bred by her daughter Caroline Sussex of Binley Arabian Stud for my future stud stallion and Pearl answered my wish and very luckily for me produced just what I asked for! A very gorgeous colt. Caroline bred a filly after my colt from the same breeding and sadly lost Pearl before breeding any more. We are very lucky to have progeny to breed on with and Flame is also SCID & LFS clear.
Erin Park Excel (AU import) x Klinta Saroya
Bred by Pam Flower
SCID & CA CLEAR
Sharaf shown here as a very pretty yearling, has settled well into his new home here in Scotland, he is a very inquisitive cuious fella and is an absolute joy to have around. We are very much looking forward to the results from using him on some of our mares.
Silvern Prince x Summertime Blues
Bred by Samantha Raikes
I was very fortunate and grateful to loan the mare Summertime Blues by Indian Idyll x Rose of Bediya owned by Rosemary & Dick Archer and their daughter Elizabeth of Worth Arabian Stud.
Silvern Prince British national arabian champion owned by their older daughter Caroline Sussex of Binley Arabian Stud happened to have him available, (luckily for us!) at the same time as Summer was coming into season so we jumped at the oppurtunity of a covering!
The result was a very flash with high whites chestnut colt, which was a bit of a suprise as both parents are grey!
It was a wonderful happy result for us as we had previously sent my mare Sabera to the Royal Dick Veterinary College, Edinburgh for AI with Silvern Prince and after a very long and incredibly expensive summer trying to AI her with a positive pregnancy despite being scanned several times a day with no obvious complications to my mare we had to bring her home not in foal, we were absolutely gutted, it was a very expensive lesson to learn but now a few years later Sabera has produced a beautiful foal by our stallion Binley Golden Flame from a natural covering and Summertime Blues has produced for us this magnificent chap by Silvern Prince.
If you ever decide to go down the route of AI I would advise you take plenty of advice from experienced breeders as it could save you a lot of money!
We were very lucky this time under very different circumstances, you never stop learning!
Grey Naar is out of the "N" line Mare Grey Sparkle on our mares page.
Sparkle was by Kildimo a "pure Blunt"" stallion imported from the Doyle Arabians in the US by Maureen de Popp Milla Laquen Stud (now disbanded) in Norfolk.
The lines go back to just three early Blunt/Crabbet horses, Gulida, Nusi and Ghadaf.
100% Crabbet Stallions plus within a very rare sub-group of Blunt/Skowronek only bloodlines.
Grey Naar is 75% Blunt/Skowronek plus 25% Doyle/Blunt.
The Doyle horses trace back to 3 horses Gulida, Nusi and Ghadaf. They are the last horses left of exclusively Blunt breeding.
